It's the tie we were all hoping for with Shaun Saunders' Haywards Heath Town getting to face Burgess Hill Town in a competitive fixture for the first time in many years with a place in the Sussex Senior Challenge Cup Final at the Amex Stadium the big prize for the semi-final winners.
Burgess Hill overcame National South side Eastbourne Borough on Tuesday evening (February 12th) thanks to an extra-time goal from Dan Beck to record a 1-0 win.
The semi-final comes around very quickly and will take place on Wednesday 27th February with a 7:15pm kick-off at Culver Road, the home of Lancing FC and the Sussex FA.
Culver Road has been a happy hunting ground for Heath this season with wins in the Sussex Shield against Brighton and Hove Albion's development squad, a 10-1 RUR Cup win over Lancing and a thrilling 5-4 Bostik League win over Horsham.
Haywards Heath's last appearance in a Sussex Senior Cup final was in 1957/58 when we beat Worthing 2-1 at the Goldstone Ground.
Burgess Hill Lost to Hastings Town 2-1 at Crawley Town's Broadfield stadium in 1997/98 final.
We hope that as many of you as possible can make it down to the South Coast to help cheer on Shaun and his team.
