Heath Continue in Good Pre Season Form
By Stuart Morgan
Heath put in a fine display away at Bostik Premier side Whitehawk as they continued to prepare for the new season.
Heath built on Saturday's win over Crowborough with a fine performance against Whitehawk tonight.
Whitehawk played two separate sides in either half, In the first half a more youthful looking side have plenty of endeavour but little end product, Heath on the other hand grew quickly into the game and were left frustrated on 13 minutes when Nathan Coopers headed effort was ruled out for a push. Heath didn't waste anytime opening the scoring properly as Lewis Finney and Karly Akehurst combined and then Akehurst sent in a great cross that Melford Simpson headed home.
Heath again saw another goal ruled out this time when Josh Spinks had strayed off side but it was 2-0 before the break when Luc Doherty and Callum Saunders worked well down the right and the ball ended at the feet of Lewis Finney and he was able to tap in.
The second half saw Whitehawk make wholesale changes sending out a more experienced squad, Heath made changes of their own which continued throughout the half.
Despite the increased Whitehawk pressure Heath more than held their own and certainly had the better chance early on with Karly Akehurst firing just wide and Bailie Rogers cut inside and saw his right footed effort well tipped over.
Whitehawk went in search of a goll and Heath had a few let offs as the ball flashed around the second 6 yard box and Josh Hetburn made a point blank save.
Whitehawk did grab a goal back with 5 minutes remaining. Brannon O'Neil found the top corner from 25 yards out that everyone could only watch and admire.
There were no more goals and Heath recorded their second win of pre season
