Heath Start Pre Season with a Win
By Stuart Morgan
Heath traveled to Egham for their first 90 minutes of the season
Heath took an 18 man squad to Egham and opened up pre season with a win.
Pre season isn't about results it’s getting the minutes into the players and on a hot day in Egham it will have done wonders.
Heath showed early dominance through possession but were unlucky to lose Lloyd Cotton with a dead leg mid way through the half.
Heath took a first half lead through Henry Watson who got on the end of a Callum Saunders free kick that was out on the right toughline, Watson steered the ball beyond the keeper to put Heath up and open his account for Heath.
The score remained at just the 1 goal up to half time although Trevor McCreadie was denied by a fine stop from the Egham number 1.
The second half saw 7 changes along with a change of kit.
The lads settled well even those in unfamiliar positions. Again Heath looked good going forwards but just couldn't find the final touch.
Egham found a good spell of pressure mid way through the half and a fine effort from a free kick rattled the crossbar.
On 74 minutes Egham broke the offside trap and the number 10 rounded Luke Glover and finished well.
Just two minutes later Heath were again in front, Callum Saunders had just come back on and his whipped cross found the top corner!
Heath had further chances as the game drew to a conclusion but the score remained as it was.
I really good workout for the players today and thank you to Egham Town for hosting.
